PRP FOR COVID/VIRAL LOSS OF SMELL

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) provides a nonsurgical boost to the body’s own healing ability by taking the patient’s blood and spinning it down in a centrifuge, which is then used to treat the afflicted area. PRP has traditionally, and very successfully, been used to treat orthopedic ailments, but researchers have discovered that it can be useful in aiding healing for a whole host of other rare conditions - including loss of smell due to COVID.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

• Treatment begins with a simple blood draw (just like you would at your primary care doctor's office).

• We then use our proprietary process to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

• The PRP is then used to treat the afflicted area (such as the inside of the nose where your smell receptors are located). 

• NOTE: We use the swab method, not the injection method.  

• It is a quick and simple process that requires no downtime.

• Please note that PRP is not covered by insurance.

• We have treated many patients who suffer from COVID-related loss of smell.
