WITHOUT SURGERY OR STEROIDS

STEROIDS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO DAMAGE TISSUE.

Why We Limit Repeated Steroid Injections

Steroid injections may provide short-term relief during a severe flare. However, steroids do not repair damaged tissue — and repeated use may actually weaken the very structures we are trying to protect.

The Potential Downsides of Repeated Steroid Use

  • Cartilage thinning: Steroids may reduce cartilage cell activity and contribute to cartilage breakdown over time.

  • Joint degeneration: Studies suggest repeated injections can accelerate cartilage volume loss in some joints.

  • Weakened tendons and ligaments: Steroids suppress collagen production, increasing risk of tendon injury or rupture.

  • Temporary masking of damage: Pain relief can allow overuse of an already compromised joint.

  • Tissue atrophy: Skin thinning, fat pad loss, or depigmentation can occur at the injection site.

  • Reduced healing response: Steroids suppress inflammation — but inflammation is part of the body’s natural repair process.

THE SOLUTION :
Instead of relying on repeated steroid injections, we focus on treatments like :

High Dose PRP Injections - To help to stimulate healing in the joint

SuperPRP+ - To provide lubrication of the joint

MFAT (Stem Cells)- To give the joint a thick cellular cushion

Shockwave therapy- To treat the ligaments and tendons through energy

These treatments aim to support the body’s natural healing response and preserve joint integrity whenever possible.
